Music Suggestions

Again we are asking for some assistance from our family and friends. Adam and I have discussed our wedding dance and discovered that we don’t have a song. We will be together nine years tomorrow, so with that long of history, how do we not have a song? I’ve seriously asked myself that, but I guess that I don’t have just one song that encompasses me as a person, let alone one song that signifies the two of us and our relationship. We both really seemed to like the classics like Al Greene – “Let’s Stay Together” and Aaron Neville & Linda Ronstadt – “Don’t Know Much”, but those are decades old so we are open to suggestions.

I had kind of pictured my Dad and I dancing to the song “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac, but then my German co-worker recommended a song called “I Loved her First” by Heartland. Now, I am certainly no country music fan…and I even find the sound of banjos to be painful to the ear. However, this song was beautiful and touching, but I couldn’t get all the way through the 30 second iTunes preview without crying sappily…may not be the scene that I want on my wedding day…my Dad and I already tend to be the teary, sappy ones, so a sappy father daughter song may only make us embarrass ourselves! Hearing that song did make me question my original selection of “Landslide” so if you have any suggestions, send them my way!

If there is anything that you specifically want to hear at the wedding, let us know, also. For instance, if it is a must that the DJ plays the Electric Slide for you to enjoy yourself at a wedding, please let us know or just post a comment.
Thank you kindly.
Love,
Tara

Requesting Help from Our Families

We are trying to compile old family photos, and they don’t necessarily have to be black and whites. Please email them to myself or Adam, and include a description. We would also like old family recipes, as well.

If you only have hard copies, you can mail them to us and we will promptly scan and return them. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Love,

Tara

The Proposal

Adam and I purchased a new house in July of 2009 for the sole purpose that we wanted Brody to grow up in a better neighborhood, and attend better schools. We found a home that we really like in a school district and neighborhood that appealed to all of us. Our new house really fits us. It is nice to finally have space to let Brody run and play, which he truly appreciates now that it is winter and we are often stuck indoors. Adam knew that he really wanted to propose to me in our new home, and also include Brody in the proposal. He was waiting for the right time for us and a time that Brody was going to be super cooperative. Adam also said that he was wanting us to be engaged prior to our little housewarming shindig.

Early in the evening on what felt like a very usual Sunday, Adam offered to take Brody upstairs and get him ready for bed and didn’t yell downstairs for assistance or anything. That in itself was making this an easy Sunday for me, so I started digging around in the fridge to get items to start making our lunches for the following day. Like I said, just an ordinary Sunday. Therefore, I didn’t even see my guys come downstairs because I was still digging around looking for pickles in the refrigerator. Adam said, “Mommy, Brody wants you for something”. When I turned around, I saw a very excited Brody-bear wearing a shirt saying Will You Marry My Dad? It was almost as if he knew what the shirt said…he was that excited, and when I turned to Adam he was on one knee. On Sunday, October 4, 2009 we were engaged in the kitchen right in front of the refrigerator. I couldn’t stop snuggling Brody and giving him kisses, and we even had a family hug. All that excitement made Brody literally dance around the house. It was a very good Sunday.

Muthard-Roseberry Hotel Block

We have contacted numerous hotels in the Lehigh Valley area and we were fortunate enough to find a hotel offering a complimentary shuttle to and from the Lehigh Valley Airport.

They are also offering a complimentary shuttle to and from the wedding venue, The Candlelight Inn.

We found a unique hotel consisting of both The Best Western Lehigh Valley Hotel and Conference Center AND the Hampton Inn & Suites both located at 200 Gateway Drive, Bethlehem PA 18017. This will give you the option of either an affordable rate or a room upgrade. The staff will be delighted to extend a warm welcome and the gracious hospitality that both hotels are known for.

The rate for the Best Western is $79.00 per night plus tax for either two queen beds or a king bed with a sleeper sofa.

The rate for The Hampton Inn & Suites is $99.00 per night plus tax.

Both hotels will provide the complimentary shuttle service, a free continental breakfast, and free WiFi in the room.

The Hotel will only guarantee room and rate availability until 12:00 PM on  Friday, September 3, 2010.  After this date the Hotel will accept the wedding courtesy rate on a rate availability basis.  To obtain the wedding courtesy rate by contact the Front Desk at (610) 866-5800 and request the rate for the Roseberry/Muthand Wedding block.

There are numerous hotels in the Lehigh Valley, however none that offered a courtesy shuttle to the wedding venue. If this is not an issue, there is a beautiful newly constructed Courtyard by Marriott less than two miles from the wedding and reception site.
